Can you let go of weight loss goal?
Yes, it's so hard to do and years ago, I didn't think I could ever do that. I wanted to be smaller, I wanted to weigh less. This was literally my main focus of every day and all the things I did were done with this one goal in mind.
But letting go of the weight loss goal is a non-negotiable if you ever want to break free from food and exercise obsession.
Are You Unhappy With Your Bodyweight?
Many people are dissatisfied with their weight simply because the number isn't what they THOUGHT it SHOULD be. But where is this number coming from?
When I was most obsessed with my food and fitness, my goal was this: **Never weigh more than 62kgs (136 lbs)**
I worked hard every day to keep my weight there, but my body knew better that this weight wasn't for me. Here's how it tried to tell me:
🔻I had to work out A TON to maintain this.
🔻I had to limit my food to keep my 62kg.
🔻I was cold.
🔻My energy was low.
🔻I didn't sleep.
🔻I had no period, I had hypothalamic amenorrhea.
🔻I restricted food and then binged. I didn't know how to eat right!
But it wasn't only my body that let me know that my weight was too low. My mind did it too! Here are just some of the signs it sent me, but I didn't listen:
🔻I was unable to to focus.
🔻I was unable to eat without calculating calories in my mind.
🔻I was reading cookbooks and daydreaming about desserts but never ate them (unless I binged).
🔻I was isolated, I had almost non-existent social life.
What Are These Signs Telling You?
Maybe you have some of the same signs as well… But you're still scared of letting go of the scale and giving up the weight loss goal.
But all these signs are telling you: ***The weight range that you're trying to force yourself into, is not right for you***
You Will Find The Right Weight and Size For You Naturally, If You Let It Happen!
Let your body take the shape and size it would with:
✅ Moderate exercise, not killing yourself. Here's a good program for you that is challenging but still gentle and won't over tax you!
✅ Moderate eating: Not too little, not too much, eating things that make you feel 💯
✅ Stress reduction: Walks, meditation, laughter, touch, breathing exercises … whatever works for YOU.
